HSE First Aid at Work
Course Suitability
The HSE Award in First Aid At Work has been developed to benefit anyone who has taken on the role of voluntary first aider within the working environment - office, retail, manufacturing or industry - of a public or private sector employer.
Training Overview
The Award in First Aid At Work, accredited by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) ensure skill, knowledge and build up confidence to enable the first aider to deal with any emergency, which may occur within their workplace.
Course Content
The HSE First Aid At Work training course will cover the following topics:
- First aid legislation and record-keeping
- Principles of first aid
- Respiratory and asphyxia
- Unconsciousness
- Circulation and shock
- Control of bleeding
- Muscles, joints and the skeleton
- Treatment of casualties
- Burns and scalds
- Poisons
- Eyes
Assessment
The HSE First Aid At Work Award is knowledge-based and will be assessed by means of an internal assessment, which includes both theory and practical examinations.
Course Duration
The HSE First Aid At Work is run as a three day training course.
